2024 Subaru WRX — factory order status has not moved in weeks

ShopDad260Community StarterApr 22, 20262024 Subaru WRX PremiumNew Jersey
2024 Subaru WRX Premium, about 29,500 miles. Dealer gave me an order/reference number but the status has been unchanged for weeks. For people who have ordered cars, what updates are meaningful versus normal waiting between milestones? I am in New Jersey.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Subaru WRX numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. That's my plan before I call anyone.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2024 Subaru WRX. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Subaru WRX is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2024 Subaru WRX in New Jersey with 29,500 miles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Subaru WRX numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. Stop there until you know. I'd rather be boring and correct. Sleeping on the number either way.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Subaru WRX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2024 Subaru WRX (29,500 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Subaru WRX numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Subaru WRX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. No need to make it theatrical. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Agree — and I'd add this: Call your insurer in New Jersey before you fall in love with the 2024 Subaru WRX. If they balk, that's your answer. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2024 Subaru WRX notes. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2024 Subaru WRX quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. When does it actually happen? Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
