2024 Subaru WRX — short-trip driving and oil-change intervals

2024 Subaru WRX Premium, about 14,000 miles. The car gets lots of cold starts, idling and short trips with few long highway runs. The factory interval feels long for that use. How would you set an interval around duty cycle rather than just the odometer? I am in Bay Area. What would you check next?

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Subaru WRX if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “short-trip driving and oil-change intervals,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Ask what changed right before it started. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Subaru WRX is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Yes, with one caveat: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Subaru WRX does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2024 Subaru WRX in Bay Area with 14,000 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.
