2024 Tesla Model Y — rolling negative equity into another car

2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range, about 29,500 miles. Current car is worth less than the payoff and I need something different. Dealer says they can roll the difference into the new loan. I am trying to understand how ugly the math gets before doing that. What would you check next?

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Tesla Model Y so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Sleeping on the number either way.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Tesla Model Y numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “rolling negative equity into another car,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Tesla Model Y, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.
