2025 Honda Civic — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke?

SunBeltHaulerCommunity StarterMay 4, 20262025 Honda Civic Sport Touring HybridPhiladelphia
2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid, about 21,500 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Honda Civic and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in Philadelphia with 21,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Philadelphia changed the 2025 Honda Civic comparison more than the sale price did. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. That's my plan before I call anyone.

If I were shopping this, if one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Honda Civic with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in Philadelphia with 21,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.
