2025 Honda Civic — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? — trying to narrow this down

SleeperHauler371Community StarterJun 16, 20262025 Honda Civic Sport Touring HybridLong Island
I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again. I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. No need to make it theatrical. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Yes, with one caveat: Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Honda Civic with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I asked about 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? — again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Agree — and I'd add this: Call your insurer in Long Island before you fall in love with the 2025 Honda Civic. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke? —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in Long Island. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Yes, with one caveat: A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Honda Civic is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Long Island, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Honda Civic comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in Long Island. No need to make it theatrical. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Honda Civic is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Asking because it changes the advice: If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2025 Honda Civic. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Honda Civic and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Coming back with numbers — insurance in Long Island changed the 2025 Honda Civic comparison more than the sale price did. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2025 Honda Civic and the doc fee was the tell. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2025 Honda Civic notes. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
