All-weather tires or dedicated winters for mostly-plowed roads?

Most roads here get plowed quickly, but I still deal with cold mornings, slush and a few real storms each year. Trying to decide whether dedicated winters are worth storing another set. Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Ford F-150 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “weather tires or dedicated winters for mostly-plowed,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2024 Ford F-150. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Ford F-150 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Ford F-150 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Ford F-150 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “weather tires or dedicated winters for mostly-plowed,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Ford F-150 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Ford F-150 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Ford F-150 price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2024 Ford F-150 in Florida. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Ford F-150 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Any freeze-frame data saved? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
