Anyone else: Fun daily that still works for one-car ownership

CleanDadCommunity StarterJul 16, 20262021 BMW X5 xDrive40iNationwide
2021 BMW X5 xDrive40i, about 8,200 miles. I want something I enjoy on back roads but still need to commute, carry luggage and survive bad weather. Trying to avoid buying a car that only makes sense on paper. What compromises have actually mattered after a year? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 BMW X5 before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2021 BMW X5 in Nationwide, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “fun daily that still works for one-car,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Wrote this up on my lunch break.
