Anyone else: Porsche Cayman purchase: how much weight do you give a borescope?

TruckDad19Community StarterDec 13, 20252007 Porsche Cayman SCharlotte
Looking at an older Cayman S with good records. I keep seeing buyers emphasize borescope/PPI work on this generation. For someone vetting listings, what would make you walk away before spending money on a full inspection? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If one piece looks too good on the 2007 Porsche Cayman, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2007 Porsche Cayman in Charlotte. The universe charges extra for guessing. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2007 Porsche Cayman. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Charlotte changed the 2007 Porsche Cayman comparison more than the sale price did. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2007 Porsche Cayman is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “porsche cayman purchase: how much weight do,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2007 Porsche Cayman and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2007 Porsche Cayman numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. The universe charges extra for guessing. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. A written buyer’s order on the 2007 Porsche Cayman is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “porsche cayman purchase: how much weight do,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2007 Porsche Cayman and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. The universe charges extra for guessing. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2007 Porsche Cayman so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “porsche cayman purchase: how much weight do,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's my plan before I call anyone.
