Driver-assistance camera needs calibration after windshield

TorqueWeekend81Community StarterFeb 1, 20262024 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual MotorNationwide
New windshield is in and shop says the camera needs calibration. Car drives fine and no warning is showing. Would you still do the calibration immediately, and does static vs dynamic calibration matter? Any data points from owners would help.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Polestar 2 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Nationwide. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2024 Polestar 2 in Nationwide, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “assistance camera needs calibration after windshield,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Polestar 2 in Nationwide. That's the whole play. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Polestar 2 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Polestar 2, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
