Model Y low-voltage warning before a road trip

CleanNomad75Community StarterNov 23, 20252024 Tesla Model Y Long RangeNYC / Long Island
2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range, about 118,000 miles. Low-voltage battery warning appeared and I have a trip coming up. Main pack is fine. I don't want to get stranded over the small battery—what would you consider a no-drive warning versus something safe to take straight to service? Any data points from owners would help.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2024 Tesla Model Y, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. Then you'll know the next fork. On “voltage warning before a road trip,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Only after sitting overnight so far.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 Tesla Model Y so service can see what you saw. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2024 Tesla Model Y in NYC / Long Island with 118,000 miles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

OP update: scanned the 2024 Tesla Model Y again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I went back under the 2024 Tesla Model Y and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Checking again after work.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2024 Tesla Model Y first. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 Tesla Model Y charge sessions. I'd do that before spending real money. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2024 Tesla Model Y — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2024 Tesla Model Y in NYC / Long Island with 118,000 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Tesla Model Y didn't change. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 Tesla Model Y so service can see what you saw. That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

The universe charges extra for guessing. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2024 Tesla Model Y and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
