Need advice: Rivian 12V warning: drive to service or request mobile help?

CruiseOwnerCommunity StarterJan 5, 20262023 Rivian R1T Quad-MotorNashville
2023 Rivian R1T Quad-Motor, about 151,000 miles. Got a 12V-related service warning and the truck otherwise wakes and drives normally. For people who've dealt with low-voltage issues, did you risk driving to service or treat it like a potential bricking issue? I'm in Nashville. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2023 Rivian R1T, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. I'd do that before spending real money. On “rivian 12v warning: drive to service or,” that was the fork that mattered for me. The universe charges extra for guessing. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2023 Rivian R1T — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. Then you'll know the next fork. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. On the 2023 Rivian R1T, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. I'd do that before spending real money. On “rivian 12v warning: drive to service or,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2023 Rivian R1T so service can see what you saw. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 Rivian R1T in Nashville with 151,000 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2023 Rivian R1T charge sessions. I'd do that before spending real money. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Asking because it changes the advice: Try a second charger before blaming the 2023 Rivian R1T — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 Rivian R1T in Nashville with 151,000 miles. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

It did rivian 12v warning: drive to service or twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
