Porsche Cayman purchase: how much weight do you give a borescope?

TorqueNomadCommunity StarterMay 3, 20262007 Porsche Cayman SUpstate New York
Looking at an older Cayman S with good records. I keep seeing buyers emphasize borescope/PPI work on this generation. For someone vetting listings, what would make you walk away before spending money on a full inspection? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2007 Porsche Cayman numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. When does it actually happen? Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2007 Porsche Cayman price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2007 Porsche Cayman with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “how much weight do you give a,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2007 Porsche Cayman notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2007 Porsche Cayman. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2007 Porsche Cayman quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2007 Porsche Cayman in Upstate New York. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
