Project car budget is already getting away from me

2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51, about 96,000 miles. Bought a cheap project because the shell was solid, and now the 'small stuff' list is longer than the drivetrain list. How do you guys prioritize safety/reliability, fabrication, cosmetics and power without rebuilding the car three times? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Chevrolet Corvette owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Quick add on that: On the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Detroit, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “project car budget is already getting away,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Detroit with 96,000 miles. When does it actually happen? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. That's the whole play. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Stop there until you know. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
