Question: New model reveal: what matters beyond the headline specs?

A new model just dropped and the headline numbers look good, but I'm more interested in curb weight, wheel/tire sizes, real rear-seat room, charging/fueling, repairability and what features are locked behind packages. I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2025 Porsche Macan charge sessions. That's where I'd start. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Yes, with one caveat: On the 2025 Porsche Macan, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. Then you'll know the next fork. On “new model reveal: what matters beyond the,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
