Question: Porsche Cayman purchase: how much weight do you give a borescope?

2007 Porsche Cayman S, about 62,000 miles. Looking at an older Cayman S with good records. I keep seeing buyers emphasize borescope/PPI work on this generation. For someone vetting listings, what would make you walk away before spending money on a full inspection? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2007 Porsche Cayman numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “porsche cayman purchase: how much weight do,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd push back a little: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2007 Porsche Cayman and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Bay Area before you fall in love with the 2007 Porsche Cayman. Do that before you talk monthly again. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Ask for out-the-door on the 2007 Porsche Cayman with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.
