Square wheel setup on a car that came staggered

2023 BMW M340i xDrive, about 4,800 miles. Thinking about moving to a square setup for tire rotation and track use. Besides fitment, what handling changes should I expect on a car calibrated around staggered tires?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 BMW M340i before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Quick add on that: On the 2023 BMW M340i in Raleigh, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “square wheel setup on a car that,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.
