Two-post lift in a residential garage — what should I verify?

2007 Porsche Cayman S, about 4,800 miles. Ceiling height looks workable but I'm more worried about slab thickness, concrete strength, anchor location and door tracks. What measurements would you collect before even shopping lifts? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2007 Porsche Cayman in Central Florida, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “post lift in a residential garage —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2007 Porsche Cayman before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2007 Porsche Cayman in Central Florida with 4,800 miles. Stop there until you know. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2007 Porsche Cayman owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2007 Porsche Cayman, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money.
