Used truck versus new compact pickup

GarageGarage53Community StarterMay 28, 20262023 Nissan Z PerformanceSouth Florida
Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck? I'm in South Florida. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2023 Nissan Z and the doc fee was the tell. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2023 Nissan Z is enough reason to walk. I'd do that before spending real money. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Title status is the whole conversation. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2023 Nissan Z. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2023 Nissan Z in South Florida. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2023 Nissan Z, not a parking lot at night. That's where I'd start. On “used truck versus new compact pickup,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

I asked about used truck versus new compact pickup again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2023 Nissan Z. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

That's my plan before I call anyone.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2023 Nissan Z, not a parking lot at night. That's where I'd start. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2023 Nissan Z still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd push back a little: Independent PPI on the 2023 Nissan Z is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” Then you'll know the next fork. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

This is from a 2023 Nissan Z in South Florida. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Independent PPI on the 2023 Nissan Z is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
