What is the one maintenance lesson you learned the expensive way?

Everyone has that one job they postponed because the car still 'felt fine.' What maintenance item taught you not to ignore early warning signs? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2025 Porsche Macan before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2025 Porsche Macan in Dallas–Fort Worth. Any freeze-frame data saved? This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2025 Porsche Macan owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I'd rather be boring and correct. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2025 Porsche Macan, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
