What is the one maintenance lesson you learned the expensive way?

Everyone has that one job they postponed because the car still 'felt fine.' What maintenance item taught you not to ignore early warning signs? Any data points from owners would help. What am I missing?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2017 Porsche 911 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2017 Porsche 911 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2017 Porsche 911, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money.
