2013 Infiniti G37 — are cars becoming too dependent on one screen or module?

2013 Infiniti G37 xS, about 166,500 miles. More basic vehicle functions now route through software and central displays. I like the features, but worry about one electronics failure affecting unrelated systems. Where should physical redundancy remain? If I figure it out I will update the thread.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. Check whether your 2013 Infiniti G37 VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. I'd do that before spending real money. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
