2013 Nissan 370Z — 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke?

LongMilesCommuter998Community StarterJun 21, 20262013 Nissan 370Z TouringNYC
2013 Nissan 370Z Touring, about 82,500 miles. I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again.

I would not stare at the monthly. In NYC, insurance quotes flipped a 2013 Nissan 370Z comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2013 Nissan 370Z in NYC with 82,500 miles. Do that first. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Nissan 370Z and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2013 Nissan 370Z (82,500 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2013 Nissan 370Z numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I screenshotted the quote for later.

If I were shopping this, two 2013 Nissan 370Z quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. That's the whole play. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Nissan 370Z so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Any freeze-frame data saved? Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In NYC, insurance quotes flipped a 2013 Nissan 370Z comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Nissan 370Z and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In NYC, insurance quotes flipped a 2013 Nissan 370Z comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2013 Nissan 370Z so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2013 Nissan 370Z and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in NYC before you fall in love with the 2013 Nissan 370Z. Do that before you talk monthly again. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2013 Nissan 370Z and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Quick update: a second 2013 Nissan 370Z quote made the first offer look ordinary. That's my plan before I call anyone.

If I were shopping this, if one piece looks too good on the 2013 Nissan 370Z, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

I asked about 50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in NYC before you fall in love with the 2013 Nissan 370Z. If they balk, that's your answer. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. I screenshotted the quote for later.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2013 Nissan 370Z. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. A written buyer’s order on the 2013 Nissan 370Z is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Two 2013 Nissan 370Z quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2013 Nissan 370Z in NYC with 82,500 miles. Stop there until you know. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2013 Nissan 370Z with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2013 Nissan 370Z price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.
