2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S — fun daily that still works for one-car ownership

I want something I enjoy on back roads but still need to commute, carry luggage and survive bad weather. Trying to avoid buying a car that only makes sense on paper. What compromises have actually mattered after a year? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2017 Porsche 911, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Michigan. Any freeze-frame data saved? If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Michigan before you fall in love with the 2017 Porsche 911. If they balk, that's your answer. On “fun daily that still works for one-car,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Agree — and I'd add this: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Porsche 911 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. That's the whole play. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2017 Porsche 911 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Michigan. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2017 Porsche 911 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Porsche 911 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “fun daily that still works for one-car,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2017 Porsche 911 in Michigan. That's the whole play. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2017 Porsche 911 notes. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
