2018 BMW 340i — steering wheel vibration only at one highway speed

The car is smooth around town, but there is a noticeable steering-wheel vibration in a narrow highway speed range. It gets better again above that speed. Tires look normal at a glance. What would you test first before replacing anything? Mileage is about 138,000.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Move a coil or plug on the 2018 BMW 340i if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2018 BMW 340i, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

I went back under the 2018 BMW 340i and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2018 BMW 340i, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. When does it actually happen? A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'll update if anything new shows up.
