2018 Kia Optima — is this actually a good used-car deal?

The online price looks competitive, but I am trying to judge the entire deal rather than the headline number. What should I compare besides mileage, history, condition and a PPI before deciding what it is worth?

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Austin, insurance quotes flipped a 2018 Kia Optima comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2018 Kia Optima so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Any freeze-frame data saved? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2018 Kia Optima. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2018 Kia Optima with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “is this actually a good used-car deal,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Wrote this up on my lunch break.
