2018 Kia Optima — what should a real pre-purchase inspection include?

I am paying an independent shop to inspect a used car. Besides a scan and putting it on a lift, what should I ask them to check so it is more than a quick state-inspection-style look?

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2018 Kia Optima quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Call your insurer in New York before you fall in love with the 2018 Kia Optima. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the sequence I'd use. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
