2020 Audi Q7 55 TFSI — intermittent metallic rattle after cold start

For the first few seconds after a cold start I hear a metallic rattle, then it disappears and won't come back once the engine is warm. No warning lights and it drives normally. Has anyone chased something like this without just replacing random parts? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

I went back under the 2020 Audi Q7 and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2020 Audi Q7, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “intermittent metallic rattle after cold start,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

It did intermittent metallic rattle after cold start twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Checking again after work.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2020 Audi Q7 is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll poke at it this weekend.
