2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport — used truck versus new compact pickup

DetailWeekendCommunity StarterFeb 18, 20262022 Cadillac Escalade SportDallas–Fort Worth
2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport, about 62,000 miles. Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck? I'm in Dallas–Fort Worth. Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Dallas–Fort Worth, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Cadillac Escalade comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Any freeze-frame data saved? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “used truck versus new compact pickup,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.
