2022 Ford Maverick — pPI found $1,800 of upcoming work

Inspection found several real maintenance items but nothing catastrophic. I still like the car. Do you treat the shop estimate as a dollar-for-dollar negotiation point or just decide whether the asking price still makes sense?

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Independent PPI on the 2022 Ford Maverick is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in Bay Area. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Yes, with one caveat: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2022 Ford Maverick, not a parking lot at night. That's where I'd start. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Sleeping on the number either way.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. If the 2022 Ford Maverick still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. Then you'll know the next fork. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

I'd push back a little: If the 2022 Ford Maverick still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in Bay Area. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Bay Area changed the 2022 Ford Maverick comparison more than the sale price did. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2022 Ford Maverick still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. Then you'll know the next fork. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2022 Ford Maverick and the doc fee was the tell. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. If the 2022 Ford Maverick still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. That's where I'd start. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Ford Maverick in Bay Area. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.
