2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC, about 72,500 miles. The car gets lots of cold starts, idling and short trips with few long highway runs. The factory interval feels long for that use. How would you set an interval around duty cycle rather than just the odometer? I am in Northern Virginia.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “benz gle — short-trip driving and oil-change,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Capture voltage while the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Two 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLEs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. I already checked the easy fluid levels.
