2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range — do shorter oil intervals actually make sense for my use?

WrenchScout82Community StarterJul 6, 20262022 Tesla Model 3 Long RangeBay Area
2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, about 78,000 miles. Most of my driving is short trips with a lot of idling, but the factory interval is pretty long. I'd rather not waste oil, but I also plan to keep the car past 150k. How would you set an interval based on use instead of just mileage? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first. What am I missing?

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Same neighborhood, different next step: On the 2022 Tesla Model 3, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. That's where I'd start. On “do shorter oil intervals actually make sense,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2022 Tesla Model 3 charge sessions. That's where I'd start. Stop there until you know. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2022 Tesla Model 3 — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. Then you'll know the next fork. Do that first. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2022 Tesla Model 3 so service can see what you saw. I'd do that before spending real money. That's the whole play. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.
