2022 Volkswagen GTI — no crank with full dash power, then it starts later — anyone dealt with this recently?

Twice I have had full lights and accessories but no crank. After waiting a few minutes it starts normally. Battery terminals look clean. What would you want to measure during the actual failure? I am in Bay Area.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2022 Volkswagen GTI does it — then decide on parts. Save the big job until that test fails. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Volkswagen GTI, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2022 Volkswagen GTI in Bay Area. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Two 2022 Volkswagen GTIs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Yes, with one caveat: Two 2022 Volkswagen GTIs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “no crank with full dash power, then,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

I'd push back a little: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Volkswagen GTI is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
