2022 Volkswagen GTI — service lifetime transmission fluid or leave it alone?

2022 Volkswagen GTI SE, about 75,500 miles. The manual treats the fluid as lifetime under normal conditions, but the vehicle is getting older and I plan to keep it. What are owners doing in practice, and why choose drain-and-fill versus an exchange?

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Two 2022 Volkswagen GTIs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “service lifetime transmission fluid or leave it,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Checking again after work.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2022 Volkswagen GTI didn't change. Checking again after work.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2022 Volkswagen GTI first. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
