2022 Volvo XC90 — costs that mattered more than fuel economy

2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge, about 40,000 miles. After owning the car for a while, tires, insurance and service pricing mattered more than the MPG difference I obsessed over before buying. What ownership costs surprised you most? I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money. What would you check next?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Volvo XC90 and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Volvo XC90 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2022 Volvo XC90 in New York with 40,000 miles. No need to make it theatrical. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
