2023 BMW M340i — costs that mattered more than fuel economy

2023 BMW M340i xDrive, about 20,000 miles. After owning the car for a while, tires, insurance and service pricing mattered more than the MPG difference I obsessed over before buying. What ownership costs surprised you most?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 BMW M340i before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 BMW M340i in Detroit with 20,000 miles. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2023 BMW M340i owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2023 BMW M340i in Detroit with 20,000 miles. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
