2023 Ford Bronco Badlands — need advice: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop. What am I missing?

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2023 Ford Bronco, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in North Jersey before you fall in love with the 2023 Ford Bronco. If they balk, that's your answer. On “need advice: cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Ford Bronco in North Jersey. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2023 Ford Bronco quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Ford Bronco is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. Stop there until you know. Sleeping on the number either way.

I asked about need advice: cpo luxury suv or brand-new again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2023 Ford Bronco and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In North Jersey, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Ford Bronco comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Stop there until you know. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. A written buyer’s order on the 2023 Ford Bronco is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.
