2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 — payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan

I was focused on tow rating until I started adding passengers, gear and tongue weight. Now payload looks like the real limit. How much buffer do you personally leave for a family towing setup?

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Yes, with one caveat: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Chicago, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. That's the whole play. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Sleeping on the number either way.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Chicago before you fall in love with the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Chicago before you fall in love with the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. If they balk, that's your answer. On “payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in Chicago. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? I screenshotted the quote for later.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 notes. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Two 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Chicago, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
