2023 Kia Telluride — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

TowDadCommunity StarterNov 25, 20252023 Kia Telluride SX PrestigeSan Diego
A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal?

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2023 Kia Telluride. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Same neighborhood, different next step: On the 2023 Kia Telluride in San Diego, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 Kia Telluride before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. When does it actually happen? I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Following up on windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter: still happening, but I have better notes now. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 Kia Telluride, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 Kia Telluride, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Thanks — that narrowed it. I'm going to try the simpler check on the 2023 Kia Telluride first. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2023 Kia Telluride owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
