2023 Kia Telluride — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter? — Seattle owner question

A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal?

Log the conditions before you spend. Capture voltage while the 2023 Kia Telluride is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Kia Telluride in Seattle. Any freeze-frame data saved? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2023 Kia Telluride didn't change. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Move a coil or plug on the 2023 Kia Telluride if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. No need to make it theatrical. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2023 Kia Telluride is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. No need to make it theatrical. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2023 Kia Telluride is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. That's the sequence I'd use. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Log the conditions before you spend. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2023 Kia Telluride, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Save the big job until that test fails. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Only after sitting overnight so far.

If it were in my driveway, loaded-suspension checks on the 2023 Kia Telluride catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Checking again after work.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2023 Kia Telluride first. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2023 Kia Telluride, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Ask what changed right before it started. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Kia Telluride and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Checking again after work.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2023 Kia Telluride and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. This is from a 2023 Kia Telluride in Seattle. Do that first. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2023 Kia Telluride, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.
