2023 Rivian R1T — single-cylinder misfire comes and goes

BoxerShopper534Community StarterAug 29, 20262023 Rivian R1T Quad-MotorPhiladelphia
A cylinder-specific misfire code appeared after one rough start, then cleared and the engine feels normal. Plugs are not very old. Would you swap coils, inspect plugs, look at injector data, or wait for it to return?

Ask what changed right before it started. Move a coil or plug on the 2023 Rivian R1T if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Capture voltage while the 2023 Rivian R1T is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “single-cylinder misfire comes and goes,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2023 Rivian R1T does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Log the conditions before you spend. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2023 Rivian R1T catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “single-cylinder misfire comes and goes,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2023 Rivian R1T catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2023 Rivian R1T first. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.
