2024 Audi Q5 — conservative tune feels great — what should I log?

ShiftGuy438Community StarterAug 31, 20262024 Audi Q5 Premium PlusSan Diego
I do not want to judge a tune only by how fast the car feels. Which parameters are worth logging periodically if the goal is catching fuel, knock, boost or temperature problems early?

Log the conditions before you spend. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Audi Q5 does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “conservative tune feels great — what should,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'll poke at it this weekend.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Audi Q5, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “conservative tune feels great — what should,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Two 2024 Audi Q5s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Audi Q5 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. No need to make it theatrical. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2024 Audi Q5 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Audi Q5, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Two 2024 Audi Q5s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2024 Audi Q5 in San Diego. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Audi Q5 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. No need to make it theatrical. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Quick add on that: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Audi Q5, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “conservative tune feels great — what should,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
