2024 BMW i4 — dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires?

2024 BMW i4 eDrive40, about 33,000 miles. Most roads are plowed quickly, but there are cold wet days, slush and a handful of serious storms. For a daily driver, where is the line where dedicated winters become worth storing?

It did dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Asking because it changes the advice: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 BMW i4 does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 BMW i4 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

I went back under the 2024 BMW i4 and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Agree — and I'd add this: Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 BMW i4 and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Not convinced that's the whole story. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 BMW i4 is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Was this after sitting overnight? Checking again after work.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 BMW i4, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Log the conditions before you spend. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 BMW i4, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. On “dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Orange County with 33,000 miles. That's the sequence I'd use. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

OP update: scanned the 2024 BMW i4 again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Capture voltage while the 2024 BMW i4 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. No need to make it theatrical. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
