2024 Buick Envision — vibration under acceleration but not while coasting

ShiftCollector423Community StarterDec 1, 20252024 Buick Envision AvenirCentral Jersey
The car is smooth at the same road speed when I lift off, but under moderate acceleration I can feel a vibration through the floor. What would you inspect first to separate axle/driveline issues from an engine mount? I am in Central Jersey. Mileage is about 67,000.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Buick Envision catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2024 Buick Envision and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Buick Envision, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Make the next action something you can finish this week. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Agree — and I'd add this: Two 2024 Buick Envisions can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Buick Envision does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2024 Buick Envision in Central Jersey. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Capture voltage while the 2024 Buick Envision is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Log the conditions before you spend. Capture voltage while the 2024 Buick Envision is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Log the conditions before you spend. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Buick Envision, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Buick Envision, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. This is from a 2024 Buick Envision in Central Jersey. When does it actually happen? Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Save the big job until that test fails. That's the whole play. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Ask what changed right before it started. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 Buick Envision and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Buick Envision does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Log the conditions before you spend. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Buick Envision is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Buick Envision in Central Jersey. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Buick Envision is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Agree — and I'd add this: Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Buick Envision if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “vibration under acceleration but not while coasting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Buick Envision in Central Jersey. Stop there until you know. It did vibration under acceleration but not while coasting twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Buick Envision didn't change. Not driving it hard until I know more.

I went back under the 2024 Buick Envision and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Update: the cheap test changed the symptom, so I'm not throwing parts yet. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
