2024 Ford F-150 — how much room below MSRP when inventory is normal? — second opinion before I spend money

I am shopping a new car with several similar units sitting nearby. Dealer started at MSRP plus fees. What is the best way to use competing written quotes without turning the process into endless back-and-forth? Mileage is about 138,000.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2024 Ford F-150 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick update: a second 2024 Ford F-150 quote made the first offer look ordinary. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

If I were shopping this, in New York, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Ford F-150 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. No need to make it theatrical. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In New York, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Ford F-150 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.
