2024 Ford F-150 Lariat 3.5 EcoBoost — dEF warning came back shortly after refill

2024 Ford F-150 Lariat 3.5 EcoBoost, about 118,000 miles. Filled the DEF tank but warning returned sooner than expected. Before blaming the sensor, can old/contaminated fluid or crystallization create this kind of behavior? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first. What am I missing?

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Ford F-150, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2024 Ford F-150 in Raleigh with 118,000 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: A second data point from another 2024 Ford F-150 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Yes, with one caveat: On the 2024 Ford F-150 in Raleigh, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “150 lariat 3.5 ecoboost — def warning,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Ford F-150 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. I'll update if anything new shows up.
