2024 Ford Mustang — service history disappears for three years

BoostDailyCommunity StarterJun 1, 20262024 Ford Mustang GTSacramento
2024 Ford Mustang GT, about 27,000 miles. The car has dealer records early in life, then a long blank period, then records again. Seller says maintenance was done independently. Is the gap itself a concern or mostly a reason to inspect condition and ask for receipts? I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Quick update: a second 2024 Ford Mustang quote made the first offer look ordinary. I screenshotted the quote for later.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Sacramento, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Ford Mustang comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Sacramento changed the 2024 Ford Mustang comparison more than the sale price did. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd push back a little: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Ford Mustang price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Ford Mustang numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “service history disappears for three years,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Ford Mustang, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Ford Mustang numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
