2024 Ford Mustang — ticking noise follows RPM but fades when warm

RoadDriverCommunity StarterAug 20, 20262024 Ford Mustang GTLong Island
There is a light ticking sound that follows engine speed for the first few minutes and then becomes hard to hear. Oil level is correct. How would you separate normal injector noise from valvetrain noise?

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Ford Mustang, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Ask what changed right before it started. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Ford Mustang if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2024 Ford Mustang in Long Island. No need to make it theatrical. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

OP update: scanned the 2024 Ford Mustang again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2024 Ford Mustang and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

I'd push back a little: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Ford Mustang is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Any freeze-frame data saved? A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Only after sitting overnight so far.

It did ticking noise follows rpm but fades when twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Ford Mustang catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'll poke at it this weekend.

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2024 Ford Mustang first. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Log the conditions before you spend. Two 2024 Ford Mustangs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. On “ticking noise follows rpm but fades when,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I keep a notes app thread for this now.
