2024 Kia EV9 — 120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin history

OldSchoolShopperCommunity StarterOct 1, 20252024 Kia EV9 GT-LineLong Island
2024 Kia EV9 GT-Line, about 28,500 miles. The higher-mileage car has detailed records and consistent ownership; the lower-mileage example has sparse history. If both inspect well, how much weight do you put on maintenance history versus odometer? I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Quick update: a second 2024 Kia EV9 quote made the first offer look ordinary. I screenshotted the quote for later.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Long Island, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Kia EV9 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Long Island before you fall in love with the 2024 Kia EV9. If they balk, that's your answer. Do that first. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2024 Kia EV9 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Do that first. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Kia EV9 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Kia EV9 in Long Island with 28,500 miles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Kia EV9 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. That's the whole play. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
