If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2024 Rivian R1S is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Rivian R1S didn't change. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Rivian R1S catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “coolant is old by age but mileage,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Rivian R1S in Brooklyn with 28,500 miles. Just my two cents from doing this recently. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 Rivian R1S and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Agree — and I'd add this: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Rivian R1S, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “coolant is old by age but mileage,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Rivian R1S, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2024 Rivian R1S in Brooklyn with 28,500 miles. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
