2024 Rivian R1S Dual-Motor — cPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

2024 Rivian R1S Dual-Motor, about 22,000 miles. Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Rivian R1S is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “motor — cpo luxury suv or brand-new,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Rivian R1S with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Sleeping on the number either way.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Rivian R1S, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
